Tips for building a “Russian bath”

  • July 31, 2017

Our Russian bathhouse is built from logs, a profiled or gallant. It happens that the name “Russian bath” is assigned to buildings from some other building material in which you can take a steamer in the same way, but this is not entirely true.

A few tips for the construction of a Russian bath:

Usually it is built on the opposite side of the entrance, away. Thus, it is hiding from other people’s eyes. Or plant it with trees and shrubs. Another advantage of such a location is that it will be more convenient for it to lay communications – electricity, water, gas pipeline, sewer pipes. In order for the water from the sewage system not to pollute your site, it is necessary to install the Toppik station, which performs biological drainage cleaning.

For more convenience, the bath can be combined with a greenhouse, workshop, shed. This is done if, for example, there is little space on the site. But it is not desirable to combine with the house. Due to an incorrectly designed combined bath in the house, it may become hot, damp or fungus may appear.

The most suitable size for the bath is 6 x 6 meters or 6 x 4 meters – this is how experience shows. But there may well be enough “wooden house” with a small area of 3.5 x 3.5 meters. There will fit a washing and a dressing room. If you are building a summer bath, then the dressing room may not be needed, but it is much more convenient with it.

.

Make doors for the bathhouse not traditional. They must close tightly so as not to let the accumulated steam. To do this, it is better to make them low, narrow and threshold higher than in an ordinary residential building.
