In 1964, the Soviet animated project “Thumbelina” was filmed based on the work of the same name by the Scandinavian literary figure g. X. Anderson.
Project director – Leonid Amalric. The adapted script was written by Nikolai Erdman. Cartoon operator – Mikhail Druyun. The music for the animated short film was written by Nikita Theological. The artists of the project were Tatyana Sazonova and N. Privalov.
The animated tape itself lasts no more than thirty minutes. There are no age restrictions on the project to view. The project rating on the Kinopoisk specialized portal is 7.63, it takes 2504 place in the list of the best films, which is based exclusively on the votes of Russian -speaking visitors.

After many misfortunes, the main character, who remained completely without anyone, is captured by a gloomy gray mouse named Mona. Mona promises a diomovochka a table and a good trick, provided that she will become the wife of the recluse Monsieur Mole. Nevertheless, a happy case saves her from this. According to the script, the main character is destined to marry not a mole and ant, but for the prince of the elves.
The Soviet public took this cartoon at one time with a bang. And many still believe that the Soviet animated short film is one of the best classic Thumbelina projects, of which there were many.
Soviet film critics rated the project quite at a high level. Western colleagues accepted him with restraint, noting that the Soviet cartoon was removed quite well, and the level of the adapted script was described as a very high.
