LED ribbons are used in apartments and houses, restaurants, bars, cinemas. They are flexible modules of LEDs combined into one electrical circuit. Such systems, unlike conventional incandescent lamp, are more economical, safe and durable.
Scope of use
In the housing interior, the RGB LED strip is usually used to illuminate stretch ceilings. LEDs do not heat up during operation, so they do not harm the ceiling canvas. They are often installed outdoors and pools. Modules from LEDs are appropriate in kitchens, because they create a cozy atmosphere there. Using these products, you can also bring an unusual note to the interior by highlighting furniture or curtains.
LED modules create lighting of different color spectra. Thanks to flexible mounts, such products can be installed anywhere, attaching them through the controller to the power source. Lighting control is carried out through the remote control.
Types
There are the following types of LED tapes:
• open;
• moisture -proof;
• Waterproof.
Open modules are installed indoors. With their help, which we have already mentioned, highlight curtains, furniture, ceilings. Moisture -proof tapes can be used in bathrooms and in kitchens, that is, where there are steam and increased humidity. Completely moisture -proof (waterproof) ribbons can be on the street or even under water.
Experts distinguish the ribbons in the color of the glow. It can be any, but the most popular options are yellow and white tapes of both warm and cold tones.
The nuances of the connection
The main plus of LED tape is the ease of installation. Modules with LEDs have an adhesive base that allows you to easily fix them. Ribbons can be cut into separate pieces, if necessary. These light sources use 12 or 24 V power, so they must be equipped with a transforming power supply that reduces voltage from standard 220 volts to the required parameter. It is easy to connect the LED module to power. In this case, it is only important not to confuse the wires. However, you are unlikely to be mistaken, because for convenience they are indicated by different colors.
When choosing a power source for LEDs, you need to take into account their power. This parameter depends on the size of the diodes, as well as their number per 1 linear meter of tape. For example, the standard SMD 3528 LED module, which has 60 bulbs per meter, consumes 4.8 watts.
With competent installation, the elements of LED backlighting do not heat up, so it is fireproof.
