Preparation of walls before plastering

  • April 28, 2017

The main method of leveling walls and other surfaces is their plaster. You can invite specialists to perform these works, but we will talk about how to do it yourself, without extensive intervention.

Before starting the wall plaster, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work.

First of all, the wall should be clean. It is necessary to remove dust, fat, dirt and give proper roughness. The processing process of the brick wall is considered the easiest, the stone surface is cleaned harder, and the concrete – the most time -consuming.

If black spots are found in the form of soot, it is recommended to remove them with a three percent solution of hydrochloric acid, and then pour water with water. It is best to use a steel brush for cleaning. In case of contamination by resin, it is better to remove a larger layer of old cover. Deeply penetrated fat must be removed.

The sandblasting apparatus remarkably cleanses the contaminated surface. Sometimes you have to close holes with a solution of PVA glue with cement. Also, a metal-“bark beetle is used, when the surface has a complex texture. This product contributes to the long service life of the plaster due to excellent adhesion to the wall.

Concrete and stone walls that have stood for more than a year require careful processing. It must be remembered that the plaster is better kept on a rough surface.

The main qualitative indicator of the plaster itself is a high clutch on the surface. Therefore, it is worth paying special attention to the prepared solution of cement and sand, choosing the correct consistency. Explore the instructions for applying the plaster in detail, because the quality of the entire interior decoration depends on this.

In order for your living in the house to be comfortable, you must not only monitor the state of the building, but also pay attention to the improvement of territories adjacent to it. Agree, unpleasant, returning home after work, see dirt, garbage, lack of greenery in the yard? And children need a playground!
