The diameter of the lid should be of such a size to completely close the damage and there was a little space along the edges of the lid. Then cut out both layers of carpet: both patch and carpet, along the contour of the cover. After that, remove the cut circle, obtained on the coating, and replace it with a round patch from the upper part of the carpet. In order for the patch to hold better, you should put it on aerosol glue.
