Welding methods used at the construction site
There are four main types of fusion welding in welding production:
- manual arc welding (MAW);
- manual argon-arc welding (MAW);
- mechanized (semiautomatic or MP);
- gas (G).
At the construction and assembly site, in the open air, MAW is used approximately 80% and about 20% gas welding. A small percentage may fall on MAW and MP, if there is space for the manufacture of the necessary parts and elements.
This is due to the fact that MAW and MP require a protected space from wind and precipitation.
