The use of thermography methods in housing construction

»The use of thermography methods in housing construction

Not so long ago, the term “thermography” was known only to a narrow circle of specialists, and even among ordinary people the concept of thermal-imaging diagnostics was associated with something prohibitively complex and subject to only a large scientist in white robes and a thoughtful look. However, life does not stand still and thanks to the development of new technologies, a variety of equipment built on the principles of thermography is increasingly used in various areas of human activity, including construction.

What is construction thermography today today? To work in this industry, a special measuring device is used – thermal imager, with which it became possible to observe thermal (infrared) radiation of physical objects. The sensitive element of the device perceives thermal radiation from surfaces and individual objects and transmits information in the form of a digital code to a microprocessor. He, in turn, calculates the temperature indicators and forms a color picture – a thermogram, where, by one or another color, you can determine a specific temperature.

Nowadays, economic shocks of the problem of energy conservation come to the fore. Various defects in building structures, low quality of building materials and simply violation of the corresponding technologies lead to the fact that thermal insulation properties worsen and, as a result, significant heat loss and other unpleasant consequences appear. Just with the help of thermal imagers, you can very easily and quickly identify all of the listed defects and, including identifying places of the heat -insulation of the seams, heat loss in areas of window openings, dangerous damage to the roof and inter -story ceilings. The elimination of even part of such malfunctions identified using this unique technique allows you to reduce heat loss several times, and therefore the material costs of residents of the houses.
